The League of Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (LDRRM) Officers of Ilocos Norte organized a “Ride for Resilience” Motorcade and “Juan for Treesilience” Tree-Planting Activity in the Municipality of Dingras on July 14, 2023. The event, held in observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM), aimed to emphasize the theme “BIDAng Pilipino: Building a Stronger Filipino Well-being towards Disaster Resilience.”

A notable highlight of the event was the presence of the newly appointed Regional Director of OCD 1, Dir. Gregory M. Cayetano, who joined the participants during the tree planting. This showcased the commitment and support of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in promoting disaster resilience efforts. Additionally, officers from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) were present, underscoring the collaborative approach in addressing disaster preparedness and response.

The Ride for Resilience motorcade served as a symbol of unity and solidarity in facing natural disasters. Participants rode through the streets of Dingras, raising awareness about the importance of disaster resilience and encouraging community involvement in building a stronger Filipino well-being. Following the motorcade, the Juan for Treesilience tree-planting activity aimed to promote environmental sustainability and highlight the role of trees in mitigating the impact of disasters.

The League of LDRRM Officers of Ilocos Norte, along with their partners from various agencies, continues to work tirelessly to strengthen the resilience of the region, ensuring the well-being and safety of its residents in the face of potential hazards. Their efforts serve as a reminder that building a disaster-resilient community requires collective action and commitment from all sectors of society.
